Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Farmagudi, Ponda, in collaboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mumbai, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, organised the ISEA Cyber Security Awareness Programme and inaugurated the Cyber Security Club of GVM’s Utkarsh Vidyamandir, ‘UVM Bots’, on September 1, 2026.The programme was aimed at creating awareness among students about cyber security and encouraging them to adopt safe, responsible and vigilant practices while using digital technology.The event featured eminent resource persons from C-DAC Mumbai, including Mr. Amol Suroshe, Scientist E and Programme Director, C-DAC Mumbai; Ms. Mrunal Kolekar, Project Engineer, C-DAC Mumbai; and Mr. Divyansh Baghel, Project Associate, C-DAC Mumbai. Prof. Venkatesh Kamat of IIT Goa also addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing importance of cyber security. He stressed the need to sensitise students about potential digital threats and encouraged them to remain vigilant while using technology and online platforms.The invited guests and resource persons were felicitated during the programme. A special highlight of the formal function was the unveiling of specially designed ISEA books on Cyber Security for students. The books are intended to help young learners understand cyber safety and develop responsible digital habits.Dr. Vinayak More, Chief Coordinator of the ISEA Cybersecurity Awareness Programme, gave an overview of the programme and elaborated on its mission of creating a safer and more responsible digital society. He emphasised the significance of equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the digital world safely.The Programme was attended by Shri Krishna Shetye, Chairman of GVM’s working committee, Shri Deepak Gaonkar, Secretary of GVM’s working committee, Shri Mandar Khandeparkar, Member of GVM’s working committee Shri Sandip Desai, Secretary of GVMs General Body and Heads of all GVM’s institutions.The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Julliet Ayyaswamy, Principal, GVM’s Utkarsh Vidyamandir. This was followed by a workshop and interactive cyber security awareness session conducted by the resource persons.
